Night time Vespa ride before bed. Without the Sunchaser, it is getting quite the workout as the object of my vehicular addiction. I drive it everywhere as long as I am in town.
My headlight upgrade is awesome and does not appear to be draining the battery.
I love this silly Italian machine. Like the Sunchaser, it has no real money value but it hits me in my enthusiast heart.
Some vehicles are tools, others are expressions of joy. One of the reasons I do not buy a motorcycle is I don’t want to leave my Vespa behind. I get happy every time I ride it. I drive it to the office almost every day now and my commute is my favorite part of the day. For an impulse buy on Craigslist, I sure got my money’s worth.
I never wanted a Vespa, and was looking for a vintage Honda CT90 when I found this one. It was a mechanically unsound when I got it, but the way it runs now is my first chance to enjoy the results of wrenching for myself. I have realized a lot of our trepidation about repairs is self-created fear.
I am excited to try more complex repairs and upgrades, which I never imagined would be an interest. I just wanted to buzz around the neighborhood, and found myself enjoying hands-on ownership of the scooter that brought Vespa back to the US. It was their first 4 stroke. See what happens?
I hope you have something you enjoy as much as I enjoy this goofy bike. You do not have to spend a lot of money to make yourself smile. Sleep well.

While i do love the posts, one thing I WILL give you shit over is that choice of helmet.
at LEAST get yourself a 3/4 helmet, though I would greatly prefer a full face like a Bitwell gringo. 1/2 helmets are border line useless, and if I had my say in it, I wouldn’t allow it on my lot when I am teaching.
something like a Shark Heritage or a AVG diesel Hi-jack, or a bell custom 500. ANYTHING but a 1/2 helm

Well I guess those stickers answer the rocker vs. mod question!
I don’t ride anything anymore but I used to have an Icon something, black rubatone, basically Batman’s helmet.

I relate with vehicles that make you smile every time you drive/ride them. It is the reason I use the corvette as a daily driver. It makes mundane things like a trip to the store turn into “cool, I get to take the vette for spin.”

Ha, you and me both!
Life’s too short for boring wheels.
